Steve runs the place. Has for years. It's a small room at 3 Boston Rd in Heritage Plaza — Sutton's Wilkinsonville neighborhood — and if you haven't found it yet, you've been missing out.
The food is made here. Not assembled — made. The corned beef hash comes out of the kitchen, not a can. The specials rotate with what Steve feels like cooking: pumpkin spice pancakes when fall arrives, patriotic pancakes around the 4th of July, something different the week after that.
The staff knows the regulars by name. They know what they order. New faces get the same treatment — this isn't a place where you feel like a number.
It's the kind of diner that doesn't need to explain itself. People find it, come back, and tell their friends. That's been working fine for a long time.
